and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2/149/7299 according to my numbering): narrated to us Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm: narrated to us Aḥmad ibn ʿĪsá al-Miṣrī with it. He said: "It was not narrated from Kaʿb except by Mūsá ibn Wardān, and Ḍimām was unique in transmitting it." I said: He is truthful but may err, as al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb," and al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mīzān": "His ḥadīth is sound, but some criticized him without evidence." I said: The rest of the narrators are trustworthy from the men of the two Shaykhs; except for Mūsá ibn Wardān, who is truthful as in "al-Kāshif" and "al-Taqrīb," and it was added: "He may err." I say: He is paired with Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb, the trustworthy, as you see, and this does not negate al-Ṭabarānī’s statement: "It was not narrated from Kaʿb except by Mūsá" because he means: connectedly, and Allāh knows best; because Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb was born around the year 48, and Kaʿb died after fifty, so it appears he did not meet him, as if al-Ṭabarānī, may Allāh have mercy on him, indicated that it is disconnected from the path of Yazīd; and connected from the path of Mūsá, and they mentioned a narration for him from Kaʿb ibn ʿUjrah, and they informed in the biography of Mūsá that he died in the year one hundred and seventeen, at seventy-four years old; so he met Kaʿb, and Allāh knows best, - therefore; the isnād is good - if Allāh wills - and perhaps for this reason al-Ḥāfiẓ was silent about it in "al-Iṣābah" and attributed it to al-Ṭabarānī alone in "al-Awsaṭ," and his teacher al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/314): ".. and its isnād is good." al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (4/110): ".. and its isnād does not come to mind now, except that our teacher al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū al-Ḥasan, may Allāh have mercy on him -
والطبراني في "المعجم الأوسط " (٢/١٤٩/ ٧٢٩٩ بترقيمي) : حدثنا محمد بن عبد الرحيم: ثنا أحمد بن عيسى المصري به. وقال:"لم يروه عن كعب إلا موسى بن وردان، تفرد به ضمام ". قلت: وهو صدوق ربما أخطأ كما قال الحافظ في "التقريب "، وقال الذهبي في "الميزان ":"صالح الحديث، لينه بعضهم بلا حجة ". قلت: وسائر الرواة ثقات من رجال الشيخين؛ غير موسى بن وردان، وهو صدوق كما في " الكاشف " و" التقريب " وزاد:" ربما أخطأ ". وأقول: هو مقرون بيزيد بن أبي حبيب الثقة كما ترى، ولا ينفي ذلك قول الطبراني: "لم يروه عن كعب إلا موسى" لأنه يعني: موصولاً، والله أعلم؛ لأن يزيد بن أبي حبيب ولد في نحو سنة (٤٨) ، ومات كعب بعد الخمسين، فالظاهر أنه لم يلقه، فكأن الطبراني ﵀ أشار إلى أنه منقطع من طريق يزيد؛ وموصول من طريق موسى، وقد ذكروا له رواية عن كعب بن عجرة، وقد أفادوا في ترجمة موسى أنه مات سنة سبع عشرة ومئة، وله أربع وسبعون سنة؛ فقد أدرك كعباً والله أعلم، - ولذلك؛ فيكون الإسناد حسناً - إن شاء الله تعالى -، ولعله لذلك سكت عنه الحافظ في "الإصابة" وعزاه للطبراني وحده في "الأوسط "، وقال شيخه الهيثمي في "المجمع " (١٠/٣١٤) :".. وإسناده جيد". وقال المنذري في "الترغيب " (٤/١١٠) :".. ولا يحضرني الآن إسناده، إلا أن شيخنا الحافظ أبا الحسن ﵀ -
