because they must err in their narration of ḥadīths more than others due to their ignorance of the sunnah and their lack of attention to it. Sixth: Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ, narrated by Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd from him, who said: I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: "Whoever attributes to me..." the ḥadīth. Narrated by al-Bukhārī (109): Makkī ibn Ibrāhīm told us, he said: Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd told us. I said: And this is a sound three-narrator isnād. Seventh: Ibn ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu); narrated by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār from him in a ḥadīth with the wording: "And who is more false than the one who attributes to me what I did not say." Its extraction was previously mentioned under ḥadīth (3063). Eighth: Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ; narrated by ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Naṣrī from him, elevated with the same meaning. Extracted by al-Bukhārī (3509), and al-Ṭabarānī in "Musnad al-Shāmiyyīn" (p. 211 and 369-370); and it was also mentioned there. Ninth: Abū Mūsá al-Ghāfiqī; narrated from him by Wadāʿah al-Ḥamdī, and from him by Yaḥyá ibn Maimūn al-Ḥaḍramī, and from him by ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith. The narrators differed regarding him; some did not mention (Wadāʿah), who is unknown and only authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān, and it contains a strange wording—as al-Ḥākim said—because of which I included it in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (6406). *
