and Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (5/1879), and through his route: al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān" (6/520/9136), as well as al-Nasāʾī in "Faḍāʾil al-Ṣaḥābah" (240) from various routes from ʿĀṣim ibn Suwayd ibn Yazīd ibn Jāriyah al-Anṣārī who said: Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd narrated to us from Anas ibn Mālik who said: Usayd ibn Ḥuḍayr, the naqīb of the Ashhal tribe, came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and spoke to him about a household from Banū Ẓafar, most of whom were women. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) allocated something to them from what he distributed among the people. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "You left us, O Usayd, until what we had was gone. If you hear of food coming to me, then come to me and remind me of that household, or remind me of that." So he waited as long as Allāh willed, then food came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) from Khaybar: barley and dates. The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) distributed it among the people, then he distributed it among the Anṣār generously, then he distributed it among that household generously. Usayd thanked him, saying: "May Allāh reward you, O Messenger of Allāh, with the best reward—or better; ʿĀṣim was uncertain." The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to him... and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And I say: It is as they said, for this ʿĀṣim was described by Abū Ḥātim as: "A shaykh whose place is truthfulness." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (7/259), and a group of trustworthy narrators reported from him; among them are Muḥammad ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ, ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Ḥujabī, and ʿAlī ibn Ḥujr, and all three narrated this ḥadīth from him, as well as Yaʿqūb ibn Muḥammad al-Zuhrī as in "al-Tahdhīb," and Abū Muṣʿab, who is Aḥmad ibn Abī Bakr al-Zuhrī al-Madanī as in "al-Jarḥ," and thus Ibn Maʿīn's statement about him:
