I said: He is indicating the weakness of Abū Hilāl and that he is not strong enough to bear the isnād from Abū Hurayrah. However, in any case, it is a strong mursal witness. As for al-Haythamī, he said (5/198): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and in it is Abū Hilāl, who is trustworthy, and al-Ṭabarānī in (al-Awsaṭ)!" 3- As for the ḥadīth of Muʿāwiyah; it is narrated by al-Haytham ibn Marwān: Zayd ibn Yaḥyá ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us: Saʿīd ibn Bashīr narrated to us from Abū Bishr Jaʿfar ibn Iyas from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr that ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr said to Muʿāwiyah regarding the conversation that occurred between them about the pledge of allegiance to Yazīd ibn Muʿāwiyah: "And you, O Muʿāwiyah! You told me that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: 'If there are two caliphs on the earth, kill the latter one.'" It was extracted by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (19/314/710), and in "al-Awsaṭ" (4/320/2535 - Majmaʿ al-Baḥrayn), and he said: "No one narrated it from Ibn al-Zubayr except Saʿīd, and no one from him except Abū Bishr, and no one from him except Saʿīd ibn Bashīr; Zayd ibn Yaḥyá was alone in narrating it." I said: He is trustworthy; as are the rest of the men; except for Saʿīd ibn Bashīr; in him there is weakness that does not prevent using him as a witness; as for al-Haythamī, he was lenient with him and said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and 'al-Awsaṭ', and its men are trustworthy!" 4- As for the ḥadīth of Anas; it is narrated by ʿAmmār ibn Hārūn: Faḍālah ibn Dīnār al-Shahhām narrated to us: Thābit narrated to us from Anas.
