"the Hour will not occur until ten signs appear..." the ḥadīth, and in it: "and a fire will emerge from the depths of ʿAdan." In another narration: "and the last of that is a fire that will emerge from Yemen, driving people to their gathering place." It was recorded by Muslim (8/179), and others like Ibn Ḥibbān (6804 - al-Iḥsān). Know that this fire which will emerge from Yemen before the establishment of the Hour is different from the fire that appeared in Madīnah in the year 654 AH, according to his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "The Hour will not occur until a fire emerges from the land of Ḥijāz, illuminating the necks of camels in Buṣrá." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (7118); and Muslim (8/180); and Ibn Ḥibbān (6800 - al-Iḥsān); and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/147), and al-Ḥākim (4/443) from the ḥadīth of Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Abū Hurayrah, elevated. It is among the ḥadīths not found in "Musnad Aḥmad" despite its breadth. There is another abbreviated corroborating report from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar; authenticated by al-Tirmidhī and Ibn Ḥibbān, and it is included in "Faḍāʾil al-Shām" number (11), and also narrated by Ibn Abī Shaybah (15/78).
