It was also narrated by Muslim (8/185), and Ibn Ḥibbān (6647) through various chains from Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUlayyah with it. Abū ʿAmr al-Dānī also narrated it in "al-Fitan" (p. 115/2) without the ḥadīth of the chapter. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAṭāʾ followed him: Saʿīd ibn Iyās al-Jurayrī informed us with it. Al-Ḥākim narrated it (4/454) with additions in the text and said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim, but they did not narrate it in this wording! Muslim only narrated the ḥadīth of Dāwūd ibn Abī Hind from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): 'In the last times, there will be a caliph who gives wealth without counting it.' And this has a defect..." Then he narrated it from the path of ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAbd al-Majīd—who is al-Thaqafī—(in the original: ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd, which is a scribal error): Dāwūd ibn Abī Hind narrated it; but he said: "from Jābir or Abū Saʿīd..." with uncertainty. And I say: I have observations on this statement: first: it gives the impression that Muslim did not narrate the ḥadīth of al-Jurayrī at all, which is not the case as you can see. second: the defect he pointed to is not detrimental; because Muslim did narrate the ḥadīth from the path of ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith: my father narrated to us: Dāwūd narrated it; except he said: "from Abū Saʿīd and Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh they both said..." without uncertainty
