Yazīd ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Usāmah ibn al-Hād narrated to me from ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUrwah from ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said ... and he mentioned it. This reached ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn, so he came to him and said: What is this ḥadīth that has reached me from you in which you disparage Fāṭimah? ʿUrwah said: I would not like to have such and such and that I disparage Fāṭimah in a right that is hers. As for after that, you have my word that I will never narrate it again. And he said: "No one narrated it from ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUrwah except Yazīd ibn al-Hād." I said: And they are both trustworthy, from the men of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], as well as those below them; except for al-Murādī, Shaykh of al-Ṭabarānī, about whom there is some discussion—as you see in "al-Lisān"—but he was followed up, so the isnād is authentic. It was also narrated by al-Bazzār (3/242/2666), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (22/431/1051), and al-Ḥākim (4/43-44) through routes from Saʿīd ibn Abī Maryam with a more complete wording: that when the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) arrived in Medina, his daughter Zaynab left Mecca with Kinānah—or Ibn Kinānah—and they pursued her. Habbār ibn al-Aswad caught up with her and continued to prod her camel with his spear until he brought her down, causing her to miscarry and bleed. She was carried, and the Banū Hāshim and Banū Umayyah disputed over her. The Banū Umayyah said: We have more right to her. She was under their son Abū al-ʿĀṣ, and she was with Hind bint ʿUtbah ibn Rabīʿah, and Hind used to say to her: This is because of your father. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to Zayd ibn Ḥārithah: "Will you not go and bring Zaynab?" He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allāh! He said: "Then take my ring and give it to her." So Zayd set out and continued to be discreet until he met a shepherd. He asked: Whose sheep do you tend? He replied: They belong to Abū al-ʿĀṣ. He asked: Whose sheep are these? He replied: They belong to Zaynab, daughter of Muḥammad. He walked with him for a while, then said: Would you like me to give you something to give to her without mentioning it to anyone? He said: Yes. So he gave him the ring, and the shepherd set off,
