and ʿAlī ibn al-Mubārak corroborated it from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr with the same. The extraction of this ḥadīth has been previously mentioned under number (260) in another manner, and its extraction here provides additional clarification and other sources required for the introduction to the extraction of the following ḥadīth. There is another ḥadīth that Imām Aḥmad and others have transmitted with this isnād as well; its extraction was previously mentioned under number (366). *

"The wicked are the inhabitants of the Fire." It was said: "O Messenger of Allāh! And who are the wicked?" He said: "The women." A man said: "O Messenger of Allāh! Are they not our mothers, our sisters, and our wives?" He said: "Indeed; but when they are given, they do not show gratitude, and when they are tested, they do not show patience." Aḥmad extracted it with the isnād of the previous ḥadīth. Al-Ḥākim also extracted it (4/604) through the path of Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm: Hishām narrated it with the same. He said: "Authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs!" and al-Dhahabī agreed with him! I said: This is one of their errors; for Abū Rāshid al-Ḥabranī—the narrator from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shibl—is not among their narrators, even though he is reliable. And something similar is mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/394). Moreover, there is the issue of the ʿanʿanah of Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr; however, it has been clarified in the extraction of the previous ḥadīth that he heard it from Zayd ibn Salām from Abū Salām from Abū Rāshid. This also occurred in this ḥadīth, as al-Ḥākim extracted it (2/190-191) through the path of Maʿmar from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr from Zayd ibn Salām from his grandfather (who is Abū Salām: Mamṭūr) who said:
