and ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Maqdisī in "Volume Sixty-Three (41/1)" from Saʿīd ibn Khuthaym from Ḥanẓalah from him. al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ gharīb from this perspective of the ḥadīth of Sālim." I said: It is according to the criteria of Muslim, except that Saʿīd was opposed in his isnād. It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (1/442 and 2/97) from Isḥāq ibn Sulaymān and al-Walīd ibn Muslim from Ḥanẓalah ibn Abī Sufyān from al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad who said: I was with Ibn ʿUmar when a man came to him and said: I intended to travel, so he said: Wait until I bid you farewell: and he mentioned it, and said: "Ṣaḥīḥ according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs" and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said. Perhaps al-Tirmidhī found it gharīb from the ḥadīth of Sālim due to the disagreement of these two trustworthy narrators: Isḥāq ibn Sulaymān and al-Walīd ibn Muslim with Ibn Khuthaym, as he made it from the narration of Ḥanẓalah from Sālim, and they made it from the narration of Ḥanẓalah from al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad from him. And perhaps it is more authentic. It was also narrated by Abū Yaʿlá in his "Musnad" (270/2) through the route of al-Walīd ibn Muslim alone. C - from Mujāhid who said: "I went to Iraq with a man, and ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar accompanied us. When he was about to leave us, he said: I do not have anything to give you (thus is the original, and perhaps: to advise you), but I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: If Allāh is entrusted with something, He preserves it, and I entrust Allāh with your religion, your trustworthiness, and the end of your deeds."
