it was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr", and its narrators are trustworthy. Then he said in the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd (2/167): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Bazzār... and their narrators are the narrators of (al-Ṣaḥīḥ)."

- (he used to deliver the sermon with a staff in his hand). It was recorded by Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (1/377): ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Awaysī and Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd informed us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Lahīʿah informed us from Abū al-Aswad from ʿĀmir ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr from his father: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good; all its narrators are trustworthy, despite the known weakness in Ibn Lahīʿah's memory. However, Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd is among the trustworthy narrators whose ḥadīth scholars have authenticated when narrated from Ibn Lahīʿah, because he used to narrate from his book and not from memory, as has been verified by al-Dhahabī in several places, so there is no need to repeat it. The ḥadīth was also recorded by al-Bazzār in "Musnad" (1/306-307), Abū al-Shaykh in "Akhlaq al-Nabī (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)" (128), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (4/243) through other chains from Ibn Lahīʿah with it. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it from Ibn al-Zubayr except through this route." I say: The wording of al-Baghawī is: "He used to deliver the sermon with a staff." And with this wording, al-Haythamī mentioned it in "al-Majmaʿ" (2/187), saying: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr", and al-Bazzār, and in it is Ibn Lahīʿah, and there is discussion about him."
- (كانَ يَخْطُبُ بِمِخْصَرَةٍ في يَدِهِ) .أخرجه ابن سعد في "الطبقات " (١/٣٧٧) : أخبرنا عبد العزيز بن عبد الله الأويسي وقتيبة بن سعيد قالا: أخبرنا عبد الله بن لهيعة عن أبي الأسود عن عامر ابن عبد الله بن الزبير عن أبيه: أن النبي ﷺ ... فذكره. قلت: وهذا إسناد جيد رجاله كلهم ثقات على ضعف في حفظ ابن لهيعة معروف؛ لكن قتيبة بن سعيد من الثقات الذين صحح العلماء حديثهم عن ابن لهيعة؛ لأنه كان يروي عنه من كتابه وليس من حفظه؛ كما تقدم تحقيق ذلك عن الذهبي في غيرما موضع، فلا داعي للإعادة. والحديث أخرجه البزار في "مسنده " (١/٣٠٦- ٣٠٧) ، وأبو الشيخ في "أخلاق النبي ﷺ " (١٢٨) ، والبغوي في "شرح السنة " (٤/٢٤٣) من طرق أخرى عن ابن لهيعة به. وقال البزار:((لا نعلمه عن ابن الزبير إلا من هذا الطريق)) . قلت: ولفظ البغوي:((كان يخطب بمخصرة)) . وبهذا اللفظ أورده الهيثمي في "المجمع " (٢/١٨٧) ، وقال:((رواه الطبراني في ((الكبير)) ، والبزار، وفيه ابن لهيعة، وفيه كلام)) .
