and although its isnād is weak due to the condition of Ibn Abī Furwah and the narrator from him, the ḥadīth has a strong corroborating narration transmitted by Faliḥ ibn Sulaymān from Saʿīd ibn al-Ḥārith from Abū Salamah from Abū Saʿīd with a similar narration, without mentioning (al-Qunfudh), and it includes: "Take this, for it will illuminate before you for ten [days] and behind you for ten [days]." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/65), and al-Bazzār (1/296-297) in an extended form; it includes the story of the palm branches, the prohibition of spitting in front of him, and the forgetting of the hour on Friday. Part of it was recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah (881 and 1741), and al-Ḥākim (1/279), who said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And it is as they said, except that Faliḥ has been criticized regarding his memory, and therefore al-Dhahabī did not add in "al-Kāshif" beyond saying about him: "Ibn Maʿīn, Abū Ḥātim, and al-Nasāʾī said: He is not strong." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but makes many mistakes." He was unique—as far as I know—in narrating the forgetting of the hour of response on Friday by the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and for this reason, I included it in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (1177). As for his narration of this story of Qatādah, when I found this path from the narration of ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar from his father, my heart was relieved and my soul was at ease regarding its authenticity, so I hastened to include it here as a miracle from his miracles (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). Al-Haythamī said in the ḥadīth of the chapter (2/41):
وهذا وإن كان إسناده واهياً لحال ابن أبي فروة والراوي عنه؛ فإن للحديث شاهداً قوياً يرويه فليح بن سليمان عن سعيد بن الحارث عن أبي سلمة عن أبي سعيد بهذا الحديث نحوه دون ذكر (القنفذ) ، وفيه:((خذ هذا فسيضيء أمامك عشراً وخلفك عشراً)) . أخرجه أحمد (٣/٦٥) ، والبزار (١/٢٩٦- ٢٩٧) مطولاً؛ فيه قصة العراجين، والنهي عن البصق أمامه، ونسيان ساعة الجمعة، وقد أخرج شيئاً منه ابن خزيمة (٨٨١ و١٧٤١) ، والحاكم (١/ ٢٧٩) ، وقال:((صحيح على شرط الشيخين)) ! ووافقه الذهبي. وهو كما قالا؛ لولا أن فليحاً هذا فيه كلام من جهة حفظه، ولذلك لم يزد الذهبي في ((الكاشف)) على قوله فيه:((قال ابن معين وأبو حاتم والنسائي: ليس بالقوي)) . وقال الحافظ: ((صدوق كثير الخطأ))وقد تفرد- فيما علمت- بجملة نسيانه ﷺ لساعة الإجابة يوم الجمعة، ولذلك كنت خرجتها في "الضعيفة" (١١٧٧) . وأما روايته لقصة قتادة هذه، فإني لما وجدت لها هذه الطريق من رواية عاصمابن عمر عن أبيه؛ انشرح الصدر واطمأنت النفس لصحتها، فبادرت إلى إخراجها هنا؛ كمعجزة من معجزاته ﵊. وقد قال الهيثمي في حديث الترجمة (٢/ ٤١) :
