It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (11/222/11556). Then he recorded it (11/341/11948) through the route of ʿAmr ibn Makhlad: Bishr ibn al-Mufaḍḍal narrated to us: Khālid narrated to us from ʿIkrimah with it in an abridged form, and it includes the addition. This is a strong corroboration from Khālid, who is either Ibn Dhakwān or Ibn Mihrān al-Ḥadhāʾ, and both are reliable from the narrators of the two Shaykhs; however, I did not know ʿAmr ibn Makhlad. The ḥadīth has supporting evidence from the narration of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, raised to the Prophet, similar to it. It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/96), and Abū Yaʿlá (2/443/1249) through the route of ʿAlī ibn Zayd from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from him. ʿAlī ibn Zayd—who is Ibn Judʿān—is weak; but he is acceptable in supporting evidence, and al-Zuhrī corroborated him on the last part of it: "He does not turn away until he hears a sound or finds a smell." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (514) with a chain of narrators who are trustworthy; but they criticized it. This part has two supporting narrations from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Zayd and Abū Hurayrah, recorded in "al-Irwāʾ" (1/144-145). A third supporting narration is from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd, stopped at him, similar to it, and it holds the ruling of being raised to the Prophet. It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq (1/141/536), and Ibn Abī Shaybah (1/429), and its chain is authentic. *
