"we were forbidden (in another narration: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade us from following funerals, but he did not insist upon it." It was recorded by the two Shaykhs and others, and it is documented in "Aḥkām al-Janāʾiz" (p. 90 - al-Maʿārif). this is a strong witness for the ḥadīth; for her statement: "but he did not insist upon it" is as if it means his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saying: "there is no reward for them in that." moreover, I found another witness for this portion, narrated by Ṣuhayb ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbbād ibn Ṣuhayb: ʿAbbād ibn Ṣuhayb narrated to us from al-Ḥasan ibn Dhakwān from Sulaymān ibn al-Rabīʿ from ʿAṭāʾ from Ibn ʿUmar who said: the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "there is no reward for women in following funerals." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2/231/1/8575) and he said: "al-Ḥasan ibn Dhakwān was unique in narrating it." I said: and as in "al-Taqrīb": "truthful but makes mistakes, and he used to practice tadlīs." al-Haythamī criticized it by saying (3/28): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and it contains unknown narrators." I said: it seems he is referring to Ṣuhayb ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbbād ibn Ṣuhayb and the narrator from him
