Ibn Muslim said: from Ṣadaqah Abū Muʿāwiyah from Zayd ibn Wāqid with it, excluding fasting and breaking the fast. It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (3409) and Ṣadaqah Abū Muʿāwiyah—who is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Samīn—is weak, unlike Ṣadaqah ibn Khālid—who is al-Umawī Abū al-ʿAbbās—; he is trustworthy. If Hishām has preserved it, then the chain is good because his teacher, Zayd ibn Wāqid, is trustworthy and one of al-Bukhārī's narrators. As for Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥusayn, Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt," and two other trustworthy narrators reported from him. Al-Bukhārī said: "He heard Abū Hurayrah," as in "al-Tahdhīb." I said: he mentioned him in "al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr" (2/1/157), then narrated it suspended, and Aḥmad connected it in "al-Ashriba" (68/153): Haytham ibn Khārijah told us, saying: Ibn ʿAlāq—who is ʿUthmān ibn Ḥiṣn (1)—told us from Zayd ibn Wāqid, who said: Khālid ibn Ḥusayn, the client of ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān, told me, saying: I heard Abū Hurayrah say: I learned... the ḥadīth.
