Ḥammād ibn Salamah followed him from Simāk with a similar narration, and the addition is his. It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (43), al-Ḥākim (2/607), and Aḥmad (5/90, 92, 95, 100, 103, 104) through various chains from him. Al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. They should have said: "According to the conditions of Muslim." *

the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) had some gray hair at the front of his head and beard. When he applied oil and combed it, it was not noticeable, but when his hair was disheveled, it became apparent. He had thick hair and beard. A man asked, "Was his face like a sword?" He replied, "No, rather it was like the sun and the moon, round." He said, "I saw his seal near his shoulder, resembling a pigeon's egg, matching his body." It was recorded by Muslim (2344) and Aḥmad (5/104) through various chains from Isrāʾīl from Simāk, who heard Jābir ibn Samurah say... and he mentioned it. Al-Nābulusī attributed it in "al-Dhakhāʾir" to al-Nasāʾī in "al-Zīnah," but it might be one of his errors; it is not in it, though it could have been in his "al-Kubrā," but the ḥāfiẓ al-Mizzī in "Tuḥfat al-Ashrāf" only attributed it to Muslim! Then I saw it in it (8/50) with the first part of it. *

the most beloved drink to him (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was sweet and cold. It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/38, 40): narrated by Sufyān from Maʿmar from al-Zuhrī from ʿĀʾishah, she said: ... and she mentioned it
