al-Haythamī said (8/44): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī through various chains, and the men of this narration are the men of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ', except for Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿUrayq, and he is trustworthy." al-Mundhirī said (3/273): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' through various chains, one of which is good." I said: And I fear that it might be anomalous in this wording; because it contradicts the first wording; for that is from his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and this is from his action, and two trustworthy narrators agreed upon it, so it should be examined. Perhaps of this kind is the addition of Abū Dāwūd in the first wording: "He says: Peace be upon you, peace be upon you. This is because the houses did not have curtains on them at that time."
