and among what they sing is: 'We are the eternal ones, so we do not die; we are the secure ones, so we do not fear; we are the residing ones, so we do not depart.' This was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Ṣaghīr" and "al-Awsaṭ" (no. 5049), and through his route by Abū Nuʿaym in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (p. 59/1-2), as well as by al-Wāḥidī in "al-Wasīṭ" (1/11/1). Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the six [books], except for al-Ṭabarānī's shaykh, Abū Rafāʿah ʿUmārah ibn Wathīmah al-Miṣrī, for I did not find a biography for him as I mentioned in "al-Rawḍ", contrary to what is implied by the general statements of al-Mundhirī and al-Haythamī. * From the etiquettes of seeking permission
- (When he came to the door, he would seek permission without facing it, saying: 'Walk alongside the wall until permission is granted or you turn away.') It was recorded by Imām Aḥmad (4/189-190) and his son ʿAbd Allāh (4/189-190) who said: My father narrated to me: Ḥakam ibn Mūsá narrated to us—ʿAbd Allāh said: I also heard it from Ḥakam—Baqiyyah narrated to us, and Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Yaḥṣabī narrated to me, saying: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn Busr, a Companion of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), say... and he mentioned it. It was also recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (1078), and Abū Dāwūd (5186) through other routes from Baqiyyah with it. I say: This is a good isnād, all its narrators are trustworthy, and Baqiyyah explicitly stated the transmission, and it is not harmed by Ibn Ḥibbān's statement in "al-Thiqāt" about this al-Yaḥṣabī:
