and he indicated its preference, which is what al-Tirmidhī favored earlier. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in the biography of (ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sāʿidah) from "al-Iṣābah": "This is the preserved version." Similarly, Ibn al-Mubārak narrated it in "al-Zuhd" (77/271-Naʿīm), and Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (78/244) through the route of Sufyān as mursal. In summary: when this authentic mursal is combined with the musnad ḥadīth of al-Masʿūdī from Buraydah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), the ḥadīth reaches the level of ḥasan at the very least.
