a man asked him, saying: "O Messenger of Allāh! Is there any camel in Paradise?" He did not respond to him as he did to his companion, but said: "If Allāh admits you to Paradise, you will have whatever your soul desires and whatever delights your eyes." Suwayd ibn Naṣr narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak informed us from Sufyān, from ʿAlqamah ibn Marthad, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sābiṭ, from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with its meaning. And this is more authentic than the ḥadīth of al-Masʿūdī. I said: The isnād of the connected report is weak due to the weakness of al-Masʿūdī, and similarly ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAlī, except that this has been followed up; Aḥmad said (5/352): Yazīd narrated to us: al-Masʿūdī narrated it to us. And with this isnād, it was also reported by Ibn Abī Shaybah (13/107/15838), al-Ṭayālisī (108/806), Abū Nuʿaym (425), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Baʿth" (435-437). As for the mursal, its isnād is authentic, and it is a strong witness for the ḥadīth of the chapter. There is another connected witness for the ḥadīth from the narration of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sāʿidah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) as a marfūʿ. al-Mundhirī said (4/269), then al-Haythamī (10/413): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī; and its narrators are trustworthy." It was also reported by Abū Nuʿaym (424), in "Maʿrifat al-Ṣaḥābah" (2/48/1), and al-Bayhaqī (439) through routes from Ḥanash ibn al-Ḥārith, from ʿAlqamah ibn Marthad, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sāʿidah. And Abū Nuʿaym did not mention (ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sāʿidah) in one of his narrations. al-Bayhaqī said: "And it was narrated by al-Thawrī from ʿAlqamah ibn Marthad, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sābiṭ al-Jumaḥī, from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) as mursal."
