- "If you are admitted to Paradise, you will be brought a horse made of a ruby with two wings, and you will be carried on it, then it will fly with you wherever you wish." This was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2547), and al-Ṭabarānī (4/215/4075), and from him by Abū Nuʿaym in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (261/423) through the route of Wāṣil ibn al-Sāʾib from Abū Sawrah from Abū Ayyūb who said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: O Messenger of Allāh! I love horses, are there horses in Paradise? The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) mentioned this. Al-Tirmidhī said: "This is a ḥasan ḥadīth, its isnād is not strong, and we do not know it from the ḥadīth of Abū Ayyūb except through this route, and Abū Sawrah—he is the nephew of Ayyūb—is weakened in ḥadīth, Yaḥyá ibn Maʿīn severely weakened him, he said: and I heard Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl saying: This Abū Sawrah is munkar in ḥadīth; he narrates strange things from Abū Ayyūb that are not corroborated." I say: And Wāṣil is also weak as in "al-Taqrīb." If it is said: How does al-Tirmidhī consider the ḥadīth ḥasan while its isnād is weak?! The answer: There is no strangeness in that; because the mentioned ḥasan is in consideration of its supporting evidences, and al-Tirmidhī has presented one of them in the chapter through the route of ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAlī: Masʿūdī narrated to us from ʿAlqamah ibn Marthad from Sulaymān ibn Buraydah from his father: A man asked the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Are there horses in Paradise? He said: "If Allāh admits you to Paradise; you will not wish to ride on a horse made of a red ruby that flies with you in Paradise wherever you wish."
