However, this preference may be challenged by the fact that al-Ṭabarānī included it in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 219) through another chain from Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, from al-Shaʿbī, from Ayman ibn Nābil, from Yaʿlá ibn Murrah with a similar narration, which suggests that it is Ibn Nābil. But I think it is also a distortion from "Ibn Thābit," as al-Shaʿbī is mentioned among the narrators from this one, not from Ibn Nābil. And Allāh knows best. Al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth in "al-Majmaʿ" (4/175): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī in al-Kabīr and al-Ṣaghīr with similar chains, and some of its narrators are those of the authentic collections."

Indeed, the well-being of this nation has been placed in its beginning, and its end will be afflicted with trials and matters you will disapprove of. A tribulation will come, and one will soften the other. A tribulation will come, and the believer will say: 'This is my destruction,' then it will be removed. Another tribulation will come, and the believer will say: 'This is it, this is it.' Whoever wishes to be distanced from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, let his death come to him while he believes in Allāh and the Last Day..."
