I heard Abū Kabshah al-Anmārī say: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was sitting with his Companions, then he went inside and came out having performed ghusl. We said, 'O Messenger of Allāh! Has something happened?' He said, 'Yes, so-and-so passed by me...' " I said: And this is a good chain of narration, if Allāh wills. All its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim, except al-Ḥarāzī, and he is also referred to as ʿAbd Allāh ibn Saʿīd al-Ḥarāzī. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Tahdhīb": "They only criticized his school of thought (meaning al-Naṣb), but al-ʿAjlī and Ibn Ḥibbān declared him trustworthy." And he said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful." The ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (6/292) and he said: "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī, and the narrators of Aḥmad are trustworthy." I said: And the ḥadīth has a corroborating narration from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir. "That the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saw a woman who impressed him, so he went to Zaynab while she was tanning a hide and fulfilled his need. He said: 'Indeed, a woman approaches in the form of a devil and departs in the form of a devil. So if one of you sees a woman who impresses him, let him go to his family, for that will repel what is in himself.' " It was recorded by Muslim (6/129-130), Abū Dāwūd (2151), al-Bayhaqī (7/90), and Aḥmad (3/330, 341, 348, 395), and the wording is his, from different chains from Abū al-Zubayr with it
