I said: This is a sound isnād; its narrators are trustworthy, from Ibn Jurayj upwards, who are from the narrators of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. As for Abū Qurrah—his name is Mūsá ibn Ṭāriq al-Yamānī—he is trustworthy and from the narrators of al-Nasāʾī. ʿAlī ibn Ziyād al-Laḥjī was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Ḥibbān (8/470), who said: "His ḥadīth are reliable." A group of trustworthy narrators reported from him, as mentioned in the book "Taysīr al-Intifāʿ," which Allāh has facilitated for me to complete by His grace and generosity. Al-Mufaḍḍal ibn Muḥammad al-Jundī is the muḥaddith of Makkah, and he was deemed trustworthy by the ḥāfiẓ Abū ʿAlī al-Naysābūrī, as in "Siyar Aʿlām al-Nubalāʾ" (14/258). The ḥadīth has supporting narrations, some of which are in "Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim," Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Ḥibbān, and al-Ḥākim from Ibn ʿAbbās, and their sources have been previously cited (2023). However, I have cited it here from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah due to its rarity.

- "You are a ship." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (3/606), Aḥmad (5/220, 221, 222), al-Bazzār (3/270-271), al-Rūyānī (Q 126/2), Ibn ʿAdī (3/401), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (7/96-97), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (1/369) and in "al-Maʿrifah" (1/300/2) through various chains from Saʿīd ibn Jumhān from Safīnah, who said: We were [with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)] on a journey, and whenever a man became tired, he would throw his clothes, shield, or sword on me until I carried a great deal of it.
