"its chain of transmission is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I said: It is as they both said or close to it, for there is a slight issue with Saʿīd, but he has been corroborated. Shurayk said: From ʿImrān al-Nakhalī, from a client of Umm Salamah, who said: I was with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on a journey, and we came to a valley. He said: I began to help people cross or carry them. He said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to me: "Today you were nothing but a ship, or you are nothing but a ship." It was said to Shurayk: Is he Safīnah, the client of Umm Salamah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā)? This is how it appears in "al-Musnad," but Shurayk's response is not recorded, and it is a confirmatory question. It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/221) and al-Rūyānī (128/1). Shurayk is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Qāḍī, and he is considered reliable in supporting narrations. ʿImrān al-Nakhalī was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Ḥibbān (5/223), and his son Ḥammād ibn ʿImrān and Abū Nuʿaym also narrated from him, as mentioned in "al-Jarḥ" (3/1/300), and his father was named ʿAbd Allāh ibn Kaysān. I have reservations about mentioning Abū Nuʿaym among those who narrated from him, because al-Bukhārī did not include him in this initially, and then he only mentioned him as narrating from his son Ḥammād secondly. Ibn Abī Ḥātim agreed with him on this thirdly. And Allāh knows best. (Note): (al-Nakhalī) is attributed to (al-Nakhlah), and in "al-Musnad" it appears as: (al-Bajalī), and in "al-Rūyānī": (al-Nakhaʿī), and the correction is from "Tārīkh al-Bukhārī" and "Jarḥ al-Rāzī" and "Ansāb al-Samʿānī." What is in "al-Musnad" seems to be an old error as it also appears in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (9/366) and it was said after his ḥadīth: "Aḥmad narrated it with two chains, and the men of one of them are trustworthy."
" صحيح الإسناد ". ووافقه الذهبي. قلت: وهو كما قالا أو قريبا منه، فإن سعيدا هذا فيه كلام يسير، لكنه قد توبع، فقال شريك: عن عمران النخلي عن مولى لأم سلمة قال: كنت مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في سفر، فانتهينا إلى واد، قال: فجعلت أعبر الناس أو أحملهم، قال: فقال لي رسول الله ﷺ: " ما كنت اليوم إلا سفينة، أو ما أنت إلا سفينة ". قيل لشريك: هو سفينة مولى أم سلمة ﵂؟ هكذا هو في " المسند " لم يقع فيه جواب شريك، وهو سؤال تقرير. أخرجه أحمد (٥ / ٢٢١) والروياني (١٢٨ / ١) . وشريك هو ابن عبد الله القاضي، وهو حسن الحديث في الشواهد. وعمران النخلي، وثقه ابن حبان (٥ / ٢٢٣) وروى عنه أيضا ابنه حماد بن عمران، وأبو نعيم كما في " الجرح " (٣ / ١ / ٣٠٠) ، وسمى أباه عبد الله بن كيسان. وفي ذكره أبا نعيم في الرواة عنه وقفة عندي، لأن البخاري لم يشاركه في هذا أولا، ثم هو إنما ذكره راويا عن ابنه حماد ثانيا. ووافقه ابن أبي حاتم على هذا ثالثا. والله أعلم. (تنبيه) : (النخلي) نسبة إلى (النخلة) ، ووقع في المسند: (البجلي) ، وفي " الروياني ": (النخعي) ، والتصحيح من " تاريخ البخاري " و " جرح الرازي " و " أنساب السمعاني ". وما في " المسند " كأنه خطأ قديم فقد وقع كذلك في " مجمع الزوائد " (٩ / ٣٦٦) وقال عقب حديثه: " رواه أحمد بإسنادين، ورجال أحدهما ثقات ".
