and al-Bayhaqī (5/70/5812) through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ: Nāfiʿ ibn Yazīd narrated to me from ʿUqayl with it. I said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ is known to have weakness. Thus, his contradiction in the isnād and in the matn as well cannot be borne, for he mentioned "the wind" and "the whiteness," which is "leprosy," and yet al-Mundhirī (3/130) and al-Haythamī followed him, saying: "al-Ṭabarānī narrated it with a good isnād"! Fourth: Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn from al-Zuhrī from ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah with it, except that he said: "a foul wind." al-Bazzār mentioned it as previously stated, and al-Ṭabarānī connected it in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 168 - Hindiyyah) through the route of ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī al-Muqaddamī from Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn with it. I said: And this is a weak contradiction for two reasons: the first is that Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn was weakened in his narration from al-Zuhrī specifically. The second is that ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī al-Muqaddamī used to practice a peculiar form of tadlīs such that even if he explicitly stated hearing, there would be doubt about his hearing, as is explained in his biography in "al-Tahdhīb." And this ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah is among the criteria of al-Haythamī in "Majmaʿuh," and yet, it is something he missed, for he did not include it therein. In summary, the most authentic of these routes is the route of Ibn ʿUyaynah from al-Zuhrī from ʿUbayd Allāh from Ibn ʿAbbās. And the first route from him is a witness that is acceptable. And it has a witness from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah in the Sunan and others like "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (1220) and "Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān" (5496) and its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim
والبيهقي (٥/ ٧٠ / ٥٨١٢) من طريق عبد الله بن صالح: حدثني نافع بن يزيد عن عقيل به. قلت: عبد الله بن صالح فيه ضعف معروف. فلا تحتمل مخالفته في الإسناد وفي المتن أيضا، فإنه ذكر فيه " الريح " و " الوضح " وهو " البرص "، ومع ذلك قال المنذري (٣ / ١٣٠) وتبعه الهيثمي: " رواه الطبراني بإسناد حسن "! الرابع: سفيان بن حسين عن الزهري عن عروة عن عائشة به، إلا أنه قال: " ريح غمر ". علقه البزار كما سبق، ووصله الطبراني في " المعجم الصغير " (ص ١٦٨ - هندية) من طريق عمر بن علي المقدمي عن سفيان بن حسين به. قلت: وهذه مخالفة واهية لأمرين: أحدهما: أن سفيان بن حسين ضعفوه في روايته عن الزهري خاصة. والآخر: أن عمر بن علي المقدمي كان يدلس تدليسا غريبا بحيث أنه لو صرح بالتحديث شك في سماعه كما هو مبين في ترجمته من " التهذيب ". وحديث عائشة هذا من شرط الهيثمي في " مجمعه "، ومع ذلك، فهو مما فاته، فلم يورده فيه. وجملة القول أن أصح هذه الطرق: طريق ابن عيينة عن الزهري عن عبيد الله عن ابن عباس. والطريق الأولى عنه شاهد لا بأس به. وله شاهد من حديث أبي هريرة في السنن وغيرها مثل " الأدب المفرد " (١٢٢٠) و " صحيح ابن حبان " (٥٤٩٦) وسنده صحيح على شرط مسلم
