and his teacher Idrīs ibn Muḥammad was mentioned by Ibn Abī Ḥātim in "al-Jarḥ" with this narration, and with the narration of Ibn Abī Fudayk from him. As for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in "Thiqāt" (8/132) with only this narration! As for the grandfather of Yūnus ibn Muḥammad, he was mentioned in "al-Jarḥ" with only this narration, meaning the narration of his grandson Idrīs ibn Muḥammad. Similarly, al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh", followed by Ibn Ḥibbān in "al-Thiqāt" (5/555), mentioned him among the followers as follows: "Yūnus ibn Muḥammad ibn Faḍālah al-Ẓufarī al-Anṣārī." And so it is in "al-Jarḥ", but he added to the lineage saying: ".. Faḍālah ibn Anas al-Ẓufarī" which is reversed from what is in the isnād of the ḥadīth—and its context for al-Dūlābī—as it is "Yūnus ibn Muḥammad ibn Anas ibn Faḍālah al-Anṣārī" as previously mentioned. Perhaps this is the correct version, as it is confirmed in "al-Iṣābah." Among the peculiarities of Ibn Ḥibbān is that he mentioned him before the previous entry with a correct entry, but he did not mention: "ibn Faḍālah," and said: "and from him Faḍīl ibn Sulaymān." Similarly, al-Bukhārī mentioned him in "al-Tārīkh" (4/2/410) but did not mention any narrator for him other than Idrīs ibn Muḥammad as previously mentioned, which is correct.
