It was also recorded by Aḥmad. I said: Its chain of narration is authentic; all its narrators are trustworthy and well-known from the men of "al-Tahdhīb." Junādah ibn Abī Umayyah al-Azdī al-Dawsī is a major trustworthy follower, authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān (4/103) and others. A group narrated from him, including Mujāhid as in this ḥadīth, and as mentioned by Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (4/28). It has been said that he was a Companion, so I do not know why the Ḥāfiẓ did not authenticate it, as he said in "al-Fatḥ" (13/105): "It was recorded by Aḥmad, and its narrators are trustworthy." A similar statement was made by his teacher al-Haythamī in "al-Majmaʿ" (7/343): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, and its narrators are the narrators of (al-Ṣaḥīḥ)."
