- "I warn you about the Dajjāl, I warn you about the Dajjāl, I warn you about the Dajjāl, for there was no prophet except that he warned his nation about him. And he is among you, O nation, and he is curly-haired, dark-skinned, with a blind left eye. He has with him a paradise and a fire; his fire is paradise and his paradise is fire. He has with him a river of water and a mountain of bread. He will have power over a soul, kill it, and then bring it back to life, but he will not have power over anyone else. He will cause the sky to rain but the earth will not grow anything. He will remain on earth for forty mornings, reaching every water source. He will not approach four mosques: the Sacred Mosque, the Mosque of the Messenger, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Mount Sinai. And whatever confuses you about things, know that Allāh is not one-eyed (twice)." It was recorded by Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (15/147-148) through the route of Zāʾidah from Manṣūr, and by Aḥmad (5/435) and in "al-Sunnah" (no. 1016) through the route of Sufyān from al-Aʿmash and Manṣūr, both from Mujāhid who said: Junādah ibn Abī Umayyah al-Dawsī told us: I entered with a companion of mine upon a man from the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and we said: Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and do not tell us from anyone else even if you have truth. He said: Yes, the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stood among us one day and said: and he mentioned it. The context is from Ibn Abī Shaybah. Aḥmad said: "al-Azdī" instead of "al-Dawsī." Shuʿbah followed him from Sulaymān alone, who is al-Aʿmash. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (5/434) and in "al-Sunnah" (1232), and Ibn ʿAwn followed him from Mujāhid with a similar narration
