al-Sabīʿī—and Zakarīyā, who is the son of Abī Zāʾidah—both of them heard from him during his period of confusion. The other two: al-Jarrāḥ ibn Mulayḥ and Ḥudayj ibn Muʿāwiyah are considered like the first two, because it is not known whether they heard from him before or after his confusion, along with their own weaknesses. Perhaps the two shaykhs had confirmed through other sources that he narrated it before his confusion, or they did not consider his confusion severe enough to weaken his ḥadīth. And Allāh knows best.

- "And whoever obeys Allāh and the Messenger, they will be with those upon whom Allāh has bestowed favor, of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs, and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions." (Sūrah al-Nisāʾ, 4:69). It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/29/1-2), and "al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 12 - Hindiyyah): Aḥmad ibn ʿAmr al-Khallāl al-Makkī Abū ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿImrān al-ʿĀbidī narrated to us: Faḍīl ibn ʿIyāḍ narrated from Manṣūr from Ibrāhīm from al-Aswad from ʿĀʾishah who said: A man came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: O Messenger of Allāh! You are more beloved to me than myself, and you are more beloved to me than my family, and more beloved to me than my children. And indeed, I am in my house and I remember you, and I cannot be patient until I come to you and look at you. And when I remember my death and your death, I know that when you enter Paradise you will be raised with the prophets, and if I enter Paradise, I fear that I will not see you. The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) did not respond to him until Jibrīl (peace be upon him) descended with this verse. So he mentioned it. And he said: "No one narrated it from Manṣūr from Ibrāhīm from al-Aswad from ʿĀʾishah except Faḍīl, and it was uniquely reported by ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿImrān."
