- "Whoever among you can avoid dying except in Medina, let him die there, for whoever dies there will have intercession or testimony for him." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1032 - Mawārid) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (24/331/824) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (2/1/83/1) through the route of Yūnus from Ibn Shihāb from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah from al-Ṣumaytah - a woman from Banī Layth - who heard her narrate to Ṣafiyyah bint Abī ʿUbayd that she heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy, and there is a slight difference in the isnād that does not harm, if Allāh wills, as mentioned by al-Bayhaqī and al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Iṣābah / Biography of al-Ṣumaytah." And among that is what was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī (24/294/747) and al-Bayhaqī through the route of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad al-Darāwardī from Usāmah ibn Zayd from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿIkrimah from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb from his father from Subayʿah al-Aslamiyyah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Except that he said: "I will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection." Al-Bayhaqī said: "This is a mistake, it is actually from al-Ṣumaytah." And al-Mundhirī affirmed it in "al-Targhīb" (2/143). And in a narration by al-Ṭabarānī (825) through the route of Ibn Abī Fudayk from Ibn Abī Dhīʾb from Ibn Shihāb from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar (!) from an orphan woman who was with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) he said: and he mentioned it similar to the wording of Usāmah's narration
