"Stop, O Abū Bakr! This is not why we invited you." This isnād is muʿḍal, and the man from Qays is unknown and not recognized. In "Ṭabaqāt Ibn Saʿd" (8/80-81) with a weak isnād from al-Zuhrī from Ibn al-Musayyib, it is said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to Abū Bakr... then mentioned the ḥadīth of the translation similarly. The ḥadīth was authenticated by the commentator on the Muʾassasah edition of "al-Iḥsān" (9/491/4185) even though he weakened it due to Ibn Abī al-Sarī, but he said: "He was followed up." However, he did not mention the follower! His saying: (bimustaʿdhrik) means: be my excuse regarding her if I discipline her, that is, support my excuse in this. The end.

- "Do you not see that I have come between the man and you?" meaning Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq and his daughter ʿĀʾishah. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/271-272) who said: Wakīʿ narrated to us from Isrāʾīl from Abū Isḥāq from al-ʿIyāzār ibn Ḥurayth from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr who said: Abū Bakr came seeking permission to enter upon the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he heard ʿĀʾishah raising her voice over the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). So he was given permission, and he entered and said: "O daughter of Umm Rūmān"—and he grabbed her—"do you raise your voice over the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)?!" He said: Then the Prophet intervened between him and her. He said: When Abū Bakr left, the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) began to speak to her, appeasing her, and then mentioned the ḥadīth. He said: Then Abū Bakr came again seeking permission to enter upon him, and he found him joking with her. He was given permission, and he entered and said to him: "O Messenger of Allāh! Include me in your peace as you included me in your conflict."
