with a complete wording patched together from Mālik's wording in its first part, and al-Bukhārī's wording in its latter part! He attributed it to the two Shaykhs, al-Tirmidhī, and al-Nasāʾī! Not only that, but he also said in the first part: "and no charity!" This has no basis with those mentioned among the compilers, nor with others previously mentioned in our compilation, as it is only with them in the wording: "..prayer and no fasting." Except for Ibn Abī Shaybah, who has it in the wording found with al-Suyūṭī! It is anomalous, for the reasons mentioned, and due to other ḥadīths in the chapter, such as the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī with the wording: "like the fasting person, the standing one who does not tire until he returns." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (2754) and Ibn Abī Shaybah (5/319) through the route of ʿAṭiyyah from him. And the ḥadīth of al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr, raised in a shortened form with the wording: "like the fasting person during the day, and the standing one at night until he returns whenever he returns."
