then Aḥmad also recorded it (2/459) through the route of Shuʿbah from Sahl without the question and answer. Al-Nasāʾī recorded it (2/57) through another route from Abū Ṣāliḥ in an abridged form, and Ibn Abī Shaybah also recorded it (5/333). Among them: from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah from them, elevated, similar to the ḥadīth of Mālik, and added: ".. with what he returns from booty [or reward], or Allāh takes his life and admits him to Paradise." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (4603) and Aḥmad (2/438), and its isnād is good. Among them: from al-Zuhrī: Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib informed me that Abū Hurayrah said:.. and he mentioned it similarly, with the addition in its entirety. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (2787) and al-Nasāʾī (2/56). (Two notes): First: The ḥadīth of Mālik was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān from his teacher ʿUmar ibn Saʿīd ibn Sinān with his isnād from Mālik. And the ḥadīth of Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr was recorded from his teacher Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAwn with his isnād from him. The matter became confused for al-Haythamī in "Mawārid al-Ẓamʾān" (no. 1584) or for the copyist - as he attributed the text of the second teacher to his first teacher, and did not present the text of this teacher because it is in the text of the other as is apparent to you from this extraction. Strangely, this error also occurred with al-Mundhirī in "al-Targhīb" (2/179), as he attributed the text to that first teacher!! The other: al-Suyūṭī included the ḥadīth in his two compilations: "al-Ṣaghīr" and "al-Kabīr"
