rather, some Islamic parties have even gone so far as to say that the mentioned handshake is permissible, and they have imposed its adoption on every party member. They argued for this with reasoning that is not valid, disregarding the consideration of this ḥadīth and other explicit ḥadīths about the non-legitimacy of the handshake. These will be mentioned, Allāh willing, under numbers (526 and 527).

"What prevents you from listening to what I advise you (with)? (That) you say when you wake up and when you go to sleep: O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, in Your mercy I seek relief, rectify all my affairs for me, and do not leave me to myself for the blink of an eye ever." It was narrated by Ibn al-Sunnī in "ʿAmal al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah" (no. 46) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Asmāʾ" (112) through the route of Zayd ibn al-Ḥabbāb: ʿUthmān ibn Muhaib (in the original: Wahb, which is a scribal error), the client of Banū Hāshim, said: I heard Anas ibn Mālik (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to Fāṭimah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā): and he mentioned it. I say: This is a good chain of transmission; all its men are trustworthy except for ʿUthmān ibn Muhaib, who is not ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muhaib. Ibn Abī Ḥātim (3/169) reported from his father: "He is sound in ḥadīth." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Accepted." The ḥadīth was also narrated by al-Nasāʾī in his "al-Kubrā" and by al-Bazzār as mentioned in "al-Targhīb" (1/232), and he said: "With a sound isnād." It was also narrated by al-Ḥākim, who authenticated it according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, except for an error that occurred to them, which I clarified in "al-Taʿlīq al-Raghīb."
