it was narrated by al-Bukhārī and others, and it is included in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd" (2044). Al-Suyūṭī attributed the ḥadīth in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" only to al-Ṭayālisī, but in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" he added: "ʿAm, Samawīh, Ḥabb." Perhaps "ʿAm" is a scribal error for "Ḥamm," as ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Walīd is one of Aḥmad's teachers. Then I am surprised at how al-Haythamī missed this ḥadīth and did not include it in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" even though it meets his criteria, nor did he include it in "Mawārid al-Ẓamʾān"! Perhaps his observation was that it is similar in meaning to the previous narration by al-Bukhārī, and thus it did not meet his criteria. And Allāh knows best. Then there is a third route for the ḥadīth from Jābir, and another supporting narration from ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhumā), both recorded by Ibn al-Jawzī in "al-Wāhiyāt" (2/152-153), where he explains their defects. What has been mentioned earlier suffices, but whoever wishes may refer to it. There is a third supporting narration with an objectionable addition, so it must be mentioned and its defect clarified. It is narrated by Jaʿfar ibn Saʿd ibn Samurah: Khubayb ibn Sulaymān narrated to me from his father Sulaymān ibn Samurah from Samurah who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade us from practicing continuous fasting during the month of fasting and disliked it, but it was not a strict prohibition." It was recorded by al-Bazzār (1/482/1024) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (7/300/7011 and 7012), and al-Haythamī said (3/158): "Its isnād is weak."
رواه البخاري وغيره، وهو مخرج في " صحيح أبي داود " (٢٠٤٤) . والحديث لم يعزه السيوطي في " الجامع الصغير " إلا للطيالسي، وأما في " الجامع الكبير " فزاد عليه: " عم، سمويه، حب ". ولعل " عم " محرف من " حم "، فإن عبد الله بن الوليد هو من شيوخ أحمد. ثم إنني أتعجب من الهيثمي كيف فات عليه هذا الحديث فلم يورده في " مجمع الزوائد " مع أنه على شرطه، وكذلك لم يورده في " موارد الظمآن "! ولعل ملحظه في ذلك أنه بمعنى رواية البخاري المتقدمة، فهو على ذلك ليس على شرطه. والله ﷾ أعلم. ثم إن للحديث طريقا ثالثة عن جابر، وشاهدا آخر من حديث علي رضي الله عنهما، أخرجهما ابن الجوزي في " الواهيات " (٢ / ١٥٢ - ١٥٣) وبين عللهما، وفيما تقدم غنية عنهما، فمن شاء رجع إليه. وله شاهد ثالث فيه زيادة منكرة، فلابد من ذكره وبيان علته يرويه جعفر بن سعد ابن سمرة: حدثني خبيب بن سليمان عن أبيه سليمان بن سمرة عن سمرة قال: " نهانا رسول الله ﷺ أن نواصل في شهر الصوم وكرهه، وليس بعزمة ". أخرجه البزار (١ / ٤٨٢ / ١٠٢٤) والطبراني في " الكبير " (٧ / ٣٠٠ / ٧٠١١ و ٧٠١٢) وقال الهيثمي (٣ / ١٥٨): " وإسناده ضعيف ".
