and Khārijah ibn Muṣʿab is also abandoned. However, the ḥadīth has a supporting narration better than what was previously mentioned. Aḥmad said in "al-Musnad" (3/62): ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us from Salamah ibn Kuhayl from Qazaʿah from Abū Saʿīd who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is good; all its men are trustworthy, men of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], except for ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Walīd, who is al-ʿAdanī, and there is a difference of opinion about him. Aḥmad said about him: "His ḥadīth is authentic." al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mughnī": "Truthful." And likewise, al-Ḥāfiẓ said, adding: "He might make mistakes." I said: And he was followed up, as Ibn Ḥibbān included it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (5/236/3570) through another route from Aḥmad who said: Muʾammal ibn Ismāʿīl and ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Walīd narrated to us from Sufyān with it. And Muʾammal's condition is similar to that of al-ʿAdanī. al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but poor in memory." Thus, he is a strong follower, and the ḥadīth is authentic, as it has come through another route from Abū Saʿīd in a marfūʿ form with the wording: "Do not practice continuous fasting..." the ḥadīth
