and Ibn Ḥibbān said afterwards, "His statement: 'Do not repeat this again,' referred to the delay in coming to the Friday prayer, not the two rakʿahs he was commanded to perform. The evidence for this is the report of Ibn ʿAjlān, which we previously mentioned, that he commanded him in the second Friday prayer to perform two rakʿahs like them." I said: The ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAjlān, which Ibn Ḥibbān referred to, was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān just before this, and its isnād is also good. It is also found in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd" (1470).
وقال ابن حبان عقبه. " قوله: " لا تعودن لمثل هذا "، أراد الإبطاء في المجيء إلى الجمعة لا الركعتين اللتين أمر بهما، والدليل على صحة هذا خبر ابن عجلان الذي تقدم ذكرنا له أنه أمره في الجمعة الثانية أن يركع ركعتين مثلهما ". قلت: حديث ابن عجلان الذي أشار إليه ابن حبان، أخرجه ابن حبان قبيل هذا، وإسناده حسن أيضا، وهو مخرج في " صحيح أبي داود " (١٤٧٠).
- "There is no continuous fasting." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī in his "Musnad" (1765): ʿAbd al-Yamān Abū Ḥudhayfah narrated to us from Abū ʿĪsá from Jābir that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: And this isnād is weak. This ʿAbd al-Yamān is weak by consensus. And I do not know Abū ʿĪsá. It was also narrated by Ḥarām ibn ʿUthmān from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān and Muḥammad, the sons of Jābir, from their father with it. It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (4/269/7758) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (7/319) through two routes from him. But this Ḥarām is abandoned, to the extent that al-Shāfiʿī said about him, "Narrating from Ḥarām is ḥarām!" And it was also recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (1764): Khārijah ibn Muṣʿab narrated to us from Ḥarām ibn ʿUthmān from Abū ʿAtīq from Jābir with it. And Abū ʿAtīq is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jābir mentioned earlier in the narration of ʿAbd al-Razzāq
- " لا وصال في الصيام ". أخرجه أبو داود الطيالسي في " مسنده " (١٧٦٥) : حدثنا اليمان أبو حذيفة عن أبي عيسى عن جابر أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: فذكره. قلت: وهذا إسناد ضعيف، اليمان هذا ضعيف اتفاقا. وأبو عيسى لم أعرفه. ورواه حرام بن عثمان عن عبد الرحمن ومحمد ابني جابر عن أبيهما به. أخرجه عبد الرزاق في "المصنف " (٤ / ٢٦٩ / ٧٧٥٨) والبيهقي في " السنن " (٧ / ٣١٩) من طريقين عنه. لكن حرام هذا متروك، حتى قال الشافعي فيه: " الرواية عن حرام حرام "! وأخرجه الطيالسي أيضا (١٧٦٤) : حدثنا خارجة بن مصعب عن حرام بن عثمان عن أبي عتيق عن جابر به. وأبو عتيق هو عبد الرحمن بن جابر المتقدم في رواية عبد الرزاق.
