as a marfūʿ ḥadīth in the narration of al-Tanūkhī, the messenger of Heraclius to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), in which he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Glory be to Allāh, where is the night when the day comes?" It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/441-442) and Ibn Jarīr with a weak chain of transmission, and Shaykh Aḥmad Shākir (may Allāh have mercy on him) discussed it in his commentary on "Tafsīr Ibn Jarīr" (7/209-210), where he elaborated extensively and excellently, may Allāh reward him well. Among the fiqh of the ḥadīth is what Ibn Ḥibbān titled: "Mention of the report indicating the scholar's response to the questioner with answers by way of analogy and comparison rather than resolving the story."

- "Perform two rakʿahs and do not return to such an act again, meaning: the delay in coming to the Friday prayer." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (4/92/2495) and al-Dāraqutnī in his "Sunan" (2/16/11) through the route of Ibn Isḥāq: he narrated to me from Abān ibn Ṣāliḥ from Mujāhid from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh who said: Sulaik al-Ghaṭafānī entered the mosque on Friday while the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was delivering the khuṭbah to the people, so the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to him: and he mentioned it, he said: so he performed them and then sat down. I say: This is a good isnād because Ibn Isḥāq explicitly stated the narration, thus we are safe from his tadlīs, and the rest of the narrators are trustworthy. Perhaps this is why al-Ḥāfiẓ indicated the strengthening of the ḥadīth by saying in "al-Fatḥ" (2/408): "It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān," and he remained silent about it
