"we do not know it with this wording from any of the Companions except through this isnād." (Note): There are two errors in the ḥadīth of "al-Adab al-Mufrad" from the route of Saʿīd ibn Dāwūd al-Zanbarī: one is by Shaykh al-Jīlānī, the commentator of "al-Adab," who said in his takhrīj (1/529): "The author included it in 'Ṣaḥīḥ al-Adab' and Aḥmad." This is a mistake because al-Bukhārī only narrated it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" in a shortened form as mentioned earlier. It would have been more appropriate for him to attribute it to Muslim because his version is more complete with similar wording. The other is by Muḥammad Fuʾād ʿAbd al-Bāqī, who did not include it but said: "It is the meaning of the previous ḥadīth." He means the shortened ḥadīth of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, which ends with: "so one of them has borne it." It would have been proper for him to attribute it to Muslim as mentioned earlier.
- "Have you seen this night that has obscured everything for you, where has it gone?" He replied: "Allāh knows best." He said: "Indeed, Allāh does what He wills." It was narrated by Isḥāq ibn Rāhwayh in "Musnad Abī Hurayrah" (1/399/437): al-Makhzūmī informed us: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ziyād informed us, ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Aṣamm informed us, Yazīd ibn al-Aṣamm informed us from Abū Hurayrah who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: "O Muḥammad! Have you seen * (a Paradise whose width is the heavens and the earth) * so where is the Fire?" He then mentioned it. It was also narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1/158/103) through the route of Ibn Rāhwayh, and in it, some words have been altered, so they are corrected from here
