it was recorded by al-Bukhārī and others. It is also narrated in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (439) through various chains from Mālik. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth." One of the weak narrators contradicted the aforementioned chains from Mālik. Al-Bukhārī said in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (440): Saʿīd ibn Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: Mālik narrated to us that Nāfiʿ informed him that ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar informed him that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: then he mentioned it with the meaning of the ḥadīth of the chapter. This Saʿīd is al-Zanbarī. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Trustworthy, but he has some deniable narrations from Mālik, and it is said that some of his ḥadīth became confused, and ʿAbd Allāh ibn Nāfiʿ accused him of lying in his claim that he heard directly from Mālik." I say: This is one of his deniable narrations, for he contradicted the group regarding Mālik's teacher, making it Nāfiʿ, while it is actually ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār. However, there is an origin for it from the ḥadīth of Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar, in a shortened form without the addition. It was recorded by Muslim (1/56) and Abū ʿAwānah (1/21-22). There is also supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Abū Dharr, raised to the Prophet, with the wording: "No man accuses another man of immorality or disbelief, except that it returns upon him if his companion is not as he claimed." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (6045) and "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (432), and Muslim with similar wording, and by Abū ʿAwānah (1/23), Aḥmad (5/181), and al-Bazzār (4/431/2034), who said:
