he said this, and Aḥmad's narration from Jisr refutes it, and this is a reliable follow-up, for this al-Muḥtasib was mentioned by Ibn Ḥibbān in "al-Thiqāt" (7/528) through the narration of Abū Shihāb al-Ḥannāṭ from him. He added in "al-Jarḥ": "and ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Wāṣil Abū ʿUbaydah al-Ḥaddād." Meaning the narrator of this ḥadīth from him. Thus, his ḥadīth is potentially ḥasan, and no one weakened it except Ibn ʿAdī, who only added: "He narrates from Thābit ḥadīths that are not preserved." This means that one should be cautious of his ḥadīth that he narrates uniquely or contradicts the reliable narrators in, but this is not the case here, as he did not narrate it uniquely as you know. Furthermore, it has a corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah similar to it in the ḥadīth about greeting the cemetery with the wording: "I wish we had seen our brothers."
