"the one who strives for the widow and the poor is like the one who fights in the way of Allāh, and I think he said: and like the one who stands [in prayer] without tiring, and like the one who fasts without breaking [his fast]." It was also narrated by al-Bukhārī (5353, 6006, and 6007) without the phrase "and I think he said" in the narration. It was narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (2431) with the first narration, and it was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "Zawāʾid Ibn Ḥibbān" (2047), and he erred.
- "Should you not have been just between them, meaning his son and daughter in kissing them?" It was recorded by al-Bazzār in his "Musnad" (2/378/1893) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mūsá, and Ibn al-Aʿrābī in his "Muʿjam" (Q 182/1) and Abū al-Qāsim al-Hamdānī in "al-Fawāʾid" (1/3/2), both from the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muʿādh al-Ṣanʿānī from Maʿmar from al-Zuhrī from Anas who said: A man was sitting with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and his son came to him, so he took him and kissed him and seated him in his lap. Then his daughter came, and he took her to his side. The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from Maʿmar except ʿAbd Allāh, and he was a Ṣanʿānī who moved to Mecca." I said: It appeared in "Kashf al-Astār" as (ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mūsá), and I think that (Mūsá) is a distortion of (Muʿādh), and this is correct, as it appeared in the other two sources, and he is trustworthy, and those above him are also trustworthy, so the isnād is authentic. Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/156): "Al-Bazzār narrated it saying: One of our companions narrated to us - without naming him - and the rest of the men are trustworthy." I said: He is followed in the other two sources by two narrators:
