muslim al-Khūlānī from Abū Dharr said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: And this isnād is good, its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim except for ʿAlī ibn Zayd, who is Ibn ʿAbdullāh Abū al-Ḥasan al-Farāʾiḍī. Al-Khaṭīb said in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (11/427): "From the people of (Ṭarsūs), he came to (Samarra) and narrated there from Mūsá ibn Dāwūd al-Ḍabbī and.. and.. Ibn Yūnus al-Miṣrī said: They spoke about him." And similarly in "al-Lisān," except that it mentioned: "He came to Egypt.." and added: "Maslamah ibn Qāsim said: Trustworthy. He died in the year two hundred and sixty-three." (Note): Thus the ḥadīth appeared in "al-Sharḥ" (Kan), and it appeared in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" and "al-Kabīr" also (16760): (Kul), so I do not know which is correct, and the second in meaning is more specific than the first. This has been narrated in another ḥadīth from the Musnad of Jābir with the wording: "Say in the name of Allāh, trust in Allāh, and rely on Allāh." And its isnād is weak as I explained in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (1144). If the ḥadīth of the translation is authentic with the second wording, it is a strong witness for the ḥadīth of Jābir, then it will be transferred to "Silsilat al-Aḥādīth al-Ṣaḥīḥah" on one hand, and to "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ" on the other hand, as it is currently in "Ḍaʿīf al-Jāmiʿ" (4200), as I also included in it (4203) the ḥadīth of Abū Dharr with the second wording due to not having access to its isnād at the time according to the condition I mentioned in the introduction. If it is authentic, it will also be transferred to "al-Ṣaḥīḥ" in the upcoming edition, Allāh willing.
