as for Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn al-Faḍl, the teacher of Abū Nuʿaym, he said about him: "He passed away in the year eighty-seven," meaning after three hundred. He did not mention any criticism or praise regarding him. However, he was not the only one to narrate it, as will be mentioned. The ḥadīth was also recorded by al-Bazzār in his "Musnad" (2/289/1730): Bishr ibn Sahl narrated to us, Ḥibbān ibn Hilāl narrated it. In "al-Majmaʿ" (5/333) it is said: "It was narrated by al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is Bishr ibn Sahl, from whom Abū Ḥātim wrote, then struck off his ḥadīth, and the rest of its men are trustworthy." It has supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Abū Ghālib from Abū Umāmah: the Prophet ﷺ [laughed one day, so it was said to him: O Messenger of Allāh! What made you laugh?] He said: "I am amazed at people who are driven to Paradise in chains while they are unwilling." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/249 and 256) and the addition is his, but he does not have: "while they are unwilling." The context is from al-Ṭabarānī, and al-Haythamī said: "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī, and one of Aḥmad's chains of transmission consists of the men of the authentic collections." Thus he said, but Abū Ghālib is not among the men of the authentic collections, and he is a companion of Abū Umāmah, and he is truthful but makes mistakes, and he was omitted from Aḥmad's other chain, as the narrator from him was not named, so his first chain is good. Another supporting evidence: it is narrated by al-Fuḍayl ibn Sulaymān: Muḥammad ibn Abī Yaḥyá narrated to us from al-ʿAbbās ibn Sahl ibn Saʿd al-Sāʿidī from his father, who said:
