"indeed, Allāh has not sent down a disease except that He has also sent down a cure for it." I said: And this is a good isnād; its men are the men of the two Shaykhs, with a slight weakness in al-Kurmanī, as indicated by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "Taqrīb" by saying: "Truthful but makes mistakes." Therefore, al-Dhahabī included it in "Maʿrifat al-Thiqāt al-Mutakallam Fīhim bimā Lā Yūjib al-Radd" (p. 88). And there is another route for the ḥadīth, as Aḥmad said (5/371): Isḥāq ibn Yūsuf narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us from Manṣūr from Hilāl ibn Yasāf from Dhakwān from a man from the Anṣār who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) visited a man with a wound, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Call for him the physician of such-and-such a tribe." He said: So they called him, and he came and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Does medicine avail anything? He replied: "Glory be to Allāh! Is there any disease that Allāh has sent down on earth except that He has made a cure for it?" I said: And this isnād is authentic; its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for the Anṣārī man, who was not named, but it appears that he is a Companion. Therefore, Aḥmad included the ḥadīth under the title "Aḥādīth of Men from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)," and all the Companions are considered just according to us. I do not rule out that he might be Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, who is in the first isnād, as he is from the Anṣār. And Allāh knows best. Al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth in "Majmaʿ" (5/84): "Aḥmad narrated it, and its men are the men of the authentic collections."
