a man marries a woman, and when their companionship becomes prolonged, and she has borne what is in her womb, he divorces her without suspicion. I said: This is a sound and connected isnād according to me, as I verified in "Irwāʾ al-Ghalīl" (7/42), so let whoever wishes refer to it. The first sentence of it has another chain that was mentioned earlier under number (1666). His saying: (and her hands do not hold the thread) is a metaphor for her young age and poverty. In "al-Nihāyah": "al-Ḥarbī said: it means due to her youth and lack of experience, he is patient with her until they both die of old age. The intention is to encourage his companions to be kind to women and patient with them. That is, the People of the Book do this with their women." I said: That was from them when they had morals and religiosity, even if with a distorted religion. But today they prohibit what Allāh has permitted, such as divorce, and openly permit adultery and even sodomy!!

"Fulfill your vow, for there is no fulfillment of a vow in disobedience to Allāh, nor in severing family ties, nor in what the son of Adam does not own."
