and he was followed by Hishām ibn ʿAmmār in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" by al-Ṭabarānī (20/283/669) and Abū Mus-hir in "Sharḥ al-Maʿānī" by al-Ṭaḥāwī (2/321), both from Yaḥyá ibn Ḥamzah with it, and al-Ṭaḥāwī did not mention: "nor the lost property..." etc. Yaḥyá ibn Ḥamzah was followed by Muḥammad ibn Ḥarb from al-Zubaydī with its second part: "Indeed, it is not permissible for a predator..." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (3804). I say: This isnād is ḥasan with what follows it, its men are trustworthy, except that Marwān ibn Ruʾbah was not deemed reliable by anyone other than Ibn Ḥibbān (5/425), who said: "His kunyah is Abū al-Ḥuṣayn, he narrates from Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ, his enumeration is among the people of al-Shām, and its people narrated from him." He mentioned him in (the second level), meaning the Tābiʿīn, and I am in great doubt about him being a Tābiʿī, and the more likely opinion is that he is from their followers, as I have verified in "Taysīr al-Intifāʿ," may Allāh facilitate its completion for me by His grace and generosity. He was also followed by Ḥarīz ibn ʿUthmān from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī ʿAwf with it. It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (4604), Aḥmad (4/130), and al-Ṭabarānī (20/283/270). I say: And Ḥarīz is a reliable and established narrator from the men of al-Bukhārī, so the isnād is ṣaḥīḥ. And for the first half of it, there is another route from the narration of al-Ḥasan ibn Jābir who said: I heard al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdī Karib say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) prohibited certain things on the day of Khaybar, then he said:
