from this perspective, it was also narrated by al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (14/339/4149), and it appears he was followed in this, as al-Haythamī said (10/201-202): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī, and one of al-Ṭabarānī's isnāds consists of narrators of the authentic [collections]." Al-Mundhirī preceded him in this, saying (4/79): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī with two isnāds, one of which consists of narrators of the authentic [collections]." Then I saw it in "Muʿjam al-Ṭabarānī al-Kabīr" (17/284/783) through the route of Saʿīd ibn ʿUfayr: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated it to us. Then it was narrated (no. 784) through the route of Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb with it. I said: This is a strong follow-up from Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb, who is al-Ghāfiqī, and he is a trustworthy narrator from the two Shaykhs' [collections].

- "If you do that, your eyes will become sunken, and your soul will become weary." This refers to fasting continuously and standing in prayer at night. Abū ʿUbayd mentioned it in "al-Gharīb" (4-5), attributing it to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said to ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ and mentioned standing in prayer at night and fasting during the day, and then he mentioned it.
