the Saudi scholar, may Allāh reward him, in a booklet he sent to me. Then it reached me that he passed away suddenly, may Allāh have mercy on him. As for the second part of the ḥadīth of Abū Dharr, there is corroboration from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, which is as follows: "Be patient, Abū Saʿīd! For poverty will come to those among you who love me faster than a flood on the top of the valley and from the top of the mountain to its base."

- "Be patient, Abū Saʿīd! For poverty will come to those among you who love me faster than a flood on the top of the valley and from the top of the mountain to its base." It was narrated by Aḥmad (3/42) through ʿAmr from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Khudrī from his father. He complained to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about his need, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim, except for Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Khudrī, whom only Ibn Ḥibbān (4/278) considered reliable, mentioning that ʿImrān ibn Abī Anas and the people of Medina narrated from him. However, the ḥāfiẓ verified that this ʿImrān only narrated from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and that whoever said from ʿImrān from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Khudrī is incorrect, as I clarified in the biography of this Saʿīd in "Taysīr al-Intifāʿ," and thus he has no narrator except this ʿAmr, who is Ibn al-Ḥārith al-Miṣrī, and accordingly, this Saʿīd is among the unknowns, to the extent that al-Bukhārī and Ibn Abī Ḥātim did not mention any narrator for him at all in his biography! He is the flaw in this isnād. This narrator was confused by al-Haythamī with another, thinking he was Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī, the trustworthy! Thus, he included the ḥadīth in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/374) as follows: "from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Khudrī complained..." the ḥadīth, and he said:
