"He used to pray two rakʿahs in Mecca, meaning the obligatory prayers. When he arrived in Medina and the prayer was prescribed as four and three, he prayed and left the two rakʿahs he used to pray in Mecca as a complete prayer for the traveler." It was narrated by al-Ṭayālisī in "Musnad" (1535): Ḥabīb ibn Yazīd al-Anmāṭī narrated to us, saying: ʿAmr ibn Hurm narrated from Jābir ibn Zayd who said: ʿĀʾishah said:... and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād [chain of transmission] consists of trustworthy men, the men of Muslim, except for this al-Anmāṭī, about whom there is disagreement. Al-Dhahabī said in "al-Kāshif": "He has some weakness." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but makes mistakes." I said: His ḥadīth is considered good, especially if corroborated. The ḥadīth has come through another route from ʿĀʾishah with a similar meaning, which was mentioned before. There is a third route from her where she said: "The first thing prescribed to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was two rakʿahs, two rakʿahs..." The ḥadīth is similar, and it includes: "Then Allāh completed the ẓuhr and ʿaṣr..." the ḥadīth. It was narrated by Aḥmad (6/272) with a good isnād. It is among the evidence for the invalidity of the claim of those who criticized the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" by stopping it, among them Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh al-Ghumārī, as the response to him was detailed in the previous ḥadīth, which pleases the eyes of the readers who love the sunnah of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam).
